About Ren
Ren reviews the anime and hentai side of AI companion apps. His questions are practical: does the image model hold one art style across a set of pictures, do hands and outfits survive a pose change, and does a custom character still look like the same person on the tenth image.
He worked for years as a freelance illustrator and character designer for indie visual novels and mobile games, so he reads generated images the way an art director would. He notices line weight, shading consistency and anatomy errors that a quick glance misses, and he says when a model is good at one look and weak at another.
He treats the adult-only rule as part of the review. Every character he builds or tests is an adult with adult proportions, and he notes how each platform enforces its ban on underage-looking content, including what it blocks and what it lets slip.

How Ren tests
- 1
Fixed style prompts
Ten prompts cover common anime looks (clean cel shading, painterly, retro 90s, semi-realistic) and run on every model, so differences come from the tool and not from the wording.
- 2
Same character, many images
One custom adult character is generated across outfits, poses and scenes to see whether face, hair and body stay consistent.
- 3
Anatomy and detail pass
Hands, eyes, clothing seams and backgrounds are checked at full size, because that is where weaker models break down.
- 4
Chat voice versus image
For ready-made personas he checks whether the way a character talks matches how she looks, and whether the personality stays put across sessions.
- 5
Adult-only enforcement
He records what each platform does with prompts that push toward youthful looks: whether it blocks, rewrites or ignores them. Weak enforcement counts against the score.
